Jardis Garden: Saltwater Pool Landscaping

Designed for the Jardis family, this plan incorporates a new native plant landscape design around the recently installed saltwater pool. A variety of existing plants are remaining and fit into the new planting design. For privacy and to conceal pool equipment, a mixture of evergreen shrubs are planted in precise areas. Shrubs and grasses serve as a backdrop for lower height perennials and ground covers, with two key pollinator gardens located to the east and northwest of the pool. Small patches of lawn are left for the family's dogs and children, and an area occupied by a sandbox will soon include a raised garden bed for future vegetable gardening. Blueberry bushes near the future vegetable site establish the edible landscape. The native landscaping design will offer year-long color and wildlife habitat.
